Coaching Teachers works primarily one-to-one with teachers and other educators to ensure that clients reach goals quicker and more effectively than working alone. Using a forward focused, open questioning and client led approach, teachers are encouraged to learn for themselves through detailed goal setting, discussion around limiting beliefs, past and current behaviours and effective action planning to ensure the individual reaches his or her potential.
As a qualified coach and ex-teacher with 15 years experience in the 11 to 18 years sector, both mainstream and special educational needs, I have the experience and knowledge necessary to guide teachers toward professional and personal success and fulfilment.
Clients may choose to work towards a single goal over the coaching period or may want to enhance several areas of their life in addition to their career. Common issues include career change, professional development, low level stress and anxiety, confidence, work/life balance, assessment and inspection although this list is by no means exhaustive.
Sessions are conducted over the telephone by Skype and face to face within the local area and therefore I can work with clients at a local, national and international level. Clients may choose from a range of sessions - single, 4 sessions or 6 sessions and the multi-session package support typically lasts over a 2 to 6 month period. Email and text support is available between sessions. Coaching is available up to 10pm on Monday to Thursday and at weekends on request.
Coaching is not a form of therapy and differs significantly from counselling, mentoring and consulting although it can be undertaken alongside other forms of support.
Coaching Teachers is also available to provide a small, medium and large group initial coaching session within schools and colleges to educate staff further about the nature of coaching. I am qualified to coach any client on any area (not just work / career) and offer a free initial discussion to all interested individuals to ascertain whether myself and the prospective client could work together for a longer period of time.
