I am Niel Cope, I run an Human Resources Consultancy called "People Matters HR" in  Bury.

People Matters is an HR consultancy with a personal and professional touch, which aims to be part of your business.

We provide fully outsourced People Management support for SMEs across the North West. This ranges from a 24/7 phone support and advice to on site support and advice. We can undertake specialist projects and pieces of work such as recruitment, redundancy, grievance handling, disciplinary appeals, TUPE etc.

We are specialist in Organisational and Strategic Development and we often undertake business diagnostics which are reported back with recommendations to make improvements which we are equipped to implement.

I write and deliver bespoke leadership development solutions for organisations, I am accredited as a coach, mentor and Leadership Development trainer.

We have a proven record in delivering outsourced HR solutions for organisations across a wide variety of sectors who employ 5 to 100 people. We review, update or prepare staff handbooks, induction packs, job descriptions, contracts of employment, HR policies and help you to develop a compliant bespoke HR framework.

Myself and my team work very closely with our clients to build a positive rapport and an understanding of what they do so that we can add value and meet your needs. We therefore aim to become a part of your business for a fraction of the cost of having your own People Management Specialists.

In short we understand where managers and Business owners are coming from, we try to be pragmatic but also to protect you from the minefield of employment law.

Your role is to manage a profitable business, provide high quality products and excellent customer service. You need to be compliant with the relevant employment legislation and best practice.  This can be very high risk and costly if you get it wrong, but increases the performance and profits of your business if you get it right.

You probably can't spend the time you need to do it and you probably haven’t got the knowledge and experience to keep up with all the changes, build on the basics and develop and retain your team members into that winning team.

Unlike other companies, which can offer a similar service, we want to be as involved as much as you want us to be. When you call, you speak to myself or one of my colleagues, who you will know not a faceless person in a call centre. 

If you have any people issues no matter how small, you can ring us to talk it through, even if it’s for your own peace of mind, it can be lonely being a manager and even more lonely being a small business owner. We can give you guidance, which may involve talking you through a problem or a process, help you to clarify your thoughts, present you with your options and provide all the off site support you need, not something off a shelf.

The key thing in HR, is there might be a process, but it involves people, who are all different, and things don’t always add up but People Matters can help.
